Rape & Sexual Assault Resources Response
I worked for the Campus Safety Department in 2018. If you look at the Annual Report from 2018, you will see 0 for Rape and 0 for Sexual Assault. In 2017 we had 2 Rapes and 3 Sexual Assaults. Your increase to 53 is not an accident, the explanation the Administration gave you I'm quite certain was not backed up by documentation, it was a campaign on the part of the students to neuter what they saw as a department that was too Big Brother in its approach.
We hunted those rapists. We knew who they were, and every Friday and Saturday night, in the guise of underage drinking enforcement, three of us would hunt them… and they knew it. We knew our bosses in the administration would cover for these rich kids because it was always the son of some celebrity or wealthy businessman who was going around raping kids. We had the son of a wealthy Russian scientist who was a serial rapist, and the administration had all the information to have him arrested, but instead they just kicked him off campus, let him collect his degree, and go home, all the while giving free tuition to his victims to keep them quiet. So we decided the best thing for us to do was stop these guys before it happened by interrupting their night.
We would go to Dress to Get Laid and St. Kilpatrick’s party and just watch. We’d wait in the darkness for some highly intoxicated female to get led away by a guy we knew was a bad guy, and we’d have our female officer talk to the girl and lead her either back to her female friends or back to her room, or in some cases to the hospital to ensure her drink hadn’t been spiked if she was impaired in a way that appeared not alcohol-related. Then the two male officers would lead our rapist into a quiet room and have a “conversation.” We didn’t get all of them, but we stopped a lot of bad things from happening.
Unfortunately, the students, not being in the know, hated having us hanging around their parties writing them up for drinking. I will point out a drinking write-up was completely meaningless. No monetary fine—all you had to do was go meet with someone in Student Life who would ask you what your favorite color was, tell you not to do it again, and then go about your day. The college wasn’t about to lose a cash cow over a drinking write-up, especially when the administration was protecting rapists.
Then Ken Collamore (not a good guy—openly cheated on his wife with staff and students, covered up all kinds of stuff), the Director of Campus Safety, fucked everything up by not doing his due diligence and hired a racist after I left. The administration took the opportunity to completely reorganize Campus Safety after Ken and his #2 stepped down in lieu of being fired. There is a reason your current Director of Campus Safety is a woodworker and former school principal. It’s because the administration wants to keep the kids happy. Why? Because each one of you is an Energizer battery worth $93,000/year. So they bring in a bunch of people with phenomenal communication skills whose sole intention is to placate the students and cover up any crimes. They stopped allowing Campus Safety to do walk-throughs of the dorms. Well, after that, Campus Safety was reduced to essentially a concierge service—butlers, basically. And butlers don’t stop rapists, and the rapists know it.
The only reason in 2022 John “Jack” D’Angelo was caught for drugging and raping a 16-year-old kid was because that kid wasn’t a student and went to his parents, who immediately went to the actual police. Had that been a student, no one would have ever known about it. Ali Tartaglia is an instrument of the administration—you go to her and you are guaranteeing a cover-up. If you are the victim of a sexual assault, you go straight to the hospital, have a rape kit done, preserve all evidence, and have the hospital contact the police for you.
